The Last Meeting!
It's finally time for us to kick Silvioni's to the curb, and finally get out and enjoy some good weather. Hopefully it comes sooner than later.
Anyhow, the last indoor meeting for winter 07-08 will be Sunday April 13th 6:30pm at Sil's.
The last bit of 'official business' will be to vote the newbies in...
2008 dues are also 'due' that night as well.
New
Email Group
The new "off the wall / jokes / fun" email group has officially taken off, and is pretty popular so far. If you haven't signed up yet and want on there, just drop an email to get your arse on there.
Be warned, there will be off-color emails guaranteed to offend someone, and off course, your standard nudie pics involved. You've be warned, LOL!
From here on out, only club related emails should be sent to the members email, and everything sent to the new email address.
Summer Gear
Lisa should have a new batch of hats ready for the last meeting, and she also has a summer line coming out for this year too - t-shirts with the club logo embroidered on the chest... If you are interested in either, or any other design from the Turbo Stitches catalog, be sure to attend the April meeting!
New stickers are also ready and I'll have them at the meeting as well. These are about 2/3 the size of the large ones we made up last time.
Track Rental
Bad/Good news is that we're pretty much at the limit for race tickets... They were much more popular this year than I expected, and sold much quicker. If you don't have one, but still need one, let me know asap. We have a bunch of non-members on the waiting list that will be bumped for members if needed.
Just to recap the info, Sunday May 25th @ Quaker, gates open 9am, racing from 10 - 4. Spectators are more than welcome and the track will collect a $5 cover at the gate.
I'll shoot a separate email out with who has tickets claimed already...
NHRA Norwalk
Billy Mopar Mustang is planning on getting a group together and heading up to the NHRA Nationals at Norwalk (Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park) on Saturday June 28th. If you are interested, drop an email for more details. Tickets are listed on the NHRA website for $55 adult.
PA Show Car Plates?
Here's some interesting info from the SEMA website... There's been new legislation created for a new 'show car' license plate for PA...
Pro-Hobbyist “Show Car” Bill Introduced in Pennsylvania
A version of SEMA model legislation (H.B. 2163) to create a vehicle registration classification for “show cars” and provide for special license plates for these vehicles was introduced and referred to the Pennsylvania House Transportation Committee for consideration. Introduced by State Representative Dan Surra (dsurra@pahouse.net), H.B. 2163 would permit show cars to be driven up to 5,000 per year and would exempt them from the state’s new enhanced vehicle inspection program.
We Urge You to Contact All Members of the House Transportation Committee (List Attached Below) Immediately to Request Their Support for H.B. 2163
* H.B. 2163 provides a specific registration class and license plates for show cars.
* H.B. 2163 provides that show cars shall not be charged an annual registration fee.
* H.B. 2163 provides that show cars may be driven up to 5,000 miles per year.
* H.B. 2163 provides that show cars must pass an annual safety inspection performed at a certified Pennsylvania inspection station that complies with the National Street Rod Association’s vehicle safety inspection program.
* H.B. 2163 provides that show cars are exempt from enhanced vehicle inspections and inspections of emissions controls.
* H.B. 2163 provides that vehicles registered as show cars may be used for occasional transportation, exhibitions, club activities, parades, tours, etc. and not for general daily transportation.

Bad Burnouts...
Here's something to keep in mind while out in the hot rod this year...
Drag racer charged in Tennessee parade deaths
Australian driver performing 'burnout' routine in '07 killed 6, hurt 22
SELMER, Tenn. - A professional drag racer whose car plowed into a parade crowd, killing six people and injuring 22 others last summer, has surrendered to authorities on multiple felony charges.
Troy Critchley is charged with six counts of vehicular homicide due to recklessness and 22 counts of reckless aggravated assault, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. He was indicted March 4 but the charges remained under seal until Thursday.
A judge set a $35,000 bond for Critchley during a hearing in Selmer and scheduled trial for Nov. 3.
Critchley, a 38-year-old driver from Australia, was performing a "burnout" routine — spinning the tires to send up clouds of smoke — when his car crashed into a crowd at a charity event June 16 in Selmer.
Critchley and his lawyer couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
